Direct Input devices have a prefix of "DX" ("DI" looks odd), raw devices are prefixed by "Raw", and Windows messaging devices are prefixed by "WM". Press the button corresponding to the button/axis you want to bind, and then press the button/jiggle the axis you want to bind it to. Bindings are sorted first by device, and then by object id. "Flip" inverts a button or axis, making down up and up down. Cases where you'll want to use it are very rare. Sensitivity sets how hard an axis or button is pressed.

Note that setting the sensitivity of PC button bindings only really has an effect for PS2 analog sticks or when playing a game with full DS2 pressure sensitivity support. You can get a non-PRO Switch controller for about $30-USD I had this issue randomly occur out of the blue one day after not using Steam or GTAV for example for a few months and then Steam Client did an update. Try launching the game, then while game is running, ALT+Tab into Steam Client and go to Settings > Controller > and disable all the Controller options from there. Once done, close out settings by clicking OK, then ALT+Tab back to your game and re-try again. The Desktop configuration does not allow you to make the buttons do anything but Keyboard and Mouse commands. So you can't fix it manually by changing it button by button. I tried to replace the whole thing at once by importing the standard controller configuration, but it doesn't let you. It's grayed out to specifically keep you from doing this. The last thing I remember was, I was trying to import the game specific configuration from Dark Souls to overwrite the Desktop one, with no particular success. Then, all of a sudden, I noticed the default game config wasn't grayed out. With today's computers you don't need to use PCSX2's speed hacks.

The default settings are fine for most people. Maybe if you're on a Windows tablet or a budget laptop, you'd need to make use of the speed hacks if you find that games are running slow. Look towards the bottom left for this slider shown below: First, access the video plug-in settings by going to Config > Video (GS) > Core GS Settings, as shown below: PCSX2 makes adjusting game performance very easy with a simple slider. Hovering over the slider pops up this information: The default setting is “ 2 - Safe (faster)”. The Presets apply speed hacks, some recompiler options and some game fixes known to boost speed. Known important game fixes will be applied automatically.ġ - The most accurate emulation but also the slowest.ģ -> Tries to balance speed with compatibility.ĥ - Too many hacks which will probably slow down most games. Try moving the slider to “3”, click OK, and see if your game is running better. If that doesn't help, then I hate to break it to you but your system is not fast enough to handle PCSX2. Next, you’ll need the ROMs to actually play! I use the PlayStation 2 emulator called PCSX2 for The Sims 2 Castaway with my Xbox controller. With this I play The Sims Console, The Sims Bustin’ Out, The Urbz: Sims in the City, The Sims 2 Console and The Sims 2: Pets Console, all the goodies! The Sims 2 Castaway can be played on it since it is a Wii game, but I personally don’t because my controller only seems to work with GameCube games. (Keyboard can also be used if you don’t have a controller) You could probably also use an Xbox controller, but I don’t know if Zadig is still needed for that to work or not because I already had it setup by the time I got an xbox controller.

(as a Windows user) This link should explain what it is with a download link and there’s also a guide.

To make the adapter work with the Dolphin emulator, I downloaded a driver with Zadig. I got mine years ago so I don’t have a link to my exact purchase, but it looks like this. I use the adapter Nintendo Wii U to make my GameCube controller work. The current version I use is 5.0-11824 because I just haven’t updated in a while. For The Sims 2 Console I use the GameCube/Wii emulator called Dolphin. My current setup is what’s allowed for speedrunning, so there are other options out there. Oh, sure! Nowadays I emulate all of them.
